Catterall & Wright served as the lead civil consultant for the Joint Use Schools Project (JUSP), the largest school construction project in Saskatchewan’s history. Delivered through a P3 procurement model, the project included the design and construction of 18 schools across nine sites, accommodating 11,100 students from pre-kindergarten to Grade 8. Each site featured a public and a Catholic school, along with shared childcare and community spaces.
Catterall & Wright was responsible for site servicing, drainage, stormwater management, and roadway and parking lot design. To meet LEED requirements, erosion and sediment control plans were developed for all sites, with inspections and construction layout also provided. The project required coordination with four municipalities, five school divisions, and the Bird-Wright Joint Venture construction team. Through efficient communication and collaboration, all schools were completed on schedule for the 2017/2018 school year. The JUSP received the 2015 Silver Award for Innovative Partnerships from the National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public/Private Partnerships.
