River Landing is a transformative redevelopment project that reclaimed a once unused portion of Saskatoon’s river valley, creating a signature public space and a vital connection to the Riversdale neighbourhood. Now fully complete after more than a decade and seven major construction contracts, River Landing stands as a showcase for the City and a catalyst for urban revitalization.
The project was delivered in two phases. Phase I focused on the redevelopment of the former Gathercole site and surrounding area east of the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge and south of 19th Street. Phase II extended west to Victoria Park and included the former A.L. Cole power site, decommissioned City electrical buildings, and adjacent lands. Overlooking the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon’s downtown core, River Landing has become one of the most valuable and high-profile real estate locations in the province.
