Sewage Pumping Station No. 1 Upgrades

Client:
Town of Aberdeen
In 2018, the Town completed a $1.4 million replacement of its aging sewage pumping station and forcemain to the lagoon. The existing system was undersized, with limited pump and wet well capacity that often required pump trucks to manage peak flows.

The project involved demolishing the original station and constructing a new facility, including a building with a below-grade pump chamber, suction-lift sewage pumps, increased wet well storage, and a backup generator. Mechanical, electrical, and control systems were fully upgraded to improve performance and reliability. In addition, the 150 mm asbestos cement forcemain was replaced with a new 200 mm HDPE forcemain to increase flow capacity to the lagoon. The upgraded system now provides dependable wastewater handling for both current and future demands.
