In 2023, Catterall & Wright delivered a $1.8 million upgrade to the Village of Vanscoy’s water distribution infrastructure to address long-standing capacity and reliability issues. Prior to the project, the Village’s existing distribution pumps were significantly undersized and unable to provide sufficient fire suppression capacity. An upgrade was necessary to supplement the existing water treatment plant and deliver a modern facility with improved pumping systems.
The project centered around the construction of a new water pumphouse complete with below-grade reservoir storage. Inside, two new distribution pumps and one larger standby pump were installed, all operated through a modern PLC-based control system and integrated with the existing water treatment plant controls. A backup generator was also incorporated to ensure continuous service during power outages. These upgrades significantly enhance the Village’s ability to meet daily demands and emergency needs while supporting future growth.
