In 2021, Catterall & Wright supported the Town of Saltcoats in the $2.9 million expansion and upgrade of its water treatment plant to improve reliability and meet future demand. The project involved both a building addition and targeted renovations to the existing facility, including the construction of a new concrete pump well and below-grade pipe chambers.

Major mechanical upgrades included the installation of a reverse osmosis membrane treatment unit and new distribution pumps to improve treatment performance and delivery capacity. The project also featured new electrical and control systems, complete with standby power generation to ensure continuous operation during outages. In addition, two new groundwater wells were developed, along with raw water supply piping, to enhance source capacity.

Off-site work included extensions to the water main and sanitary sewer systems to integrate the upgraded facility with the community’s infrastructure. Collectively, these improvements have modernized the Town’s water treatment system and secured safe, reliable drinking water for years to come.
