Catterall & Wright provided design, tendering and inspection services for construction of a new Sewage Pumping Station to replace the original aged station which had reached the end of its useful life and was rapidly becoming undersized. The project included three variable speed, dry pit mounted submersible pumps and standby power generation in case of power failure. This project also installed a flow splitting chamber to direct and split flow to the various lagoon cells with different operating levels, a task which proves very challenging with raw sewage. This project significantly reduced the risk of overflow of untreated wastewater to the Melfort creek.
