Catterall & Wright was established in 1965 by Fred Catterall and Don Wright, graduates of the University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan Colleges of Engineering.  Their goal was to offer professional engineering services to municipalities, land developers, government agencies, First Nations, and industries in Saskatchewan.  The first office was located in Saskatoon, SK on Central Avenue in Sutherland until they relocated to 8th Street East a few years later.  Fred & Don were well respected in their field and provided the personal and reliable service that we continue to value.

In 1995, the partnership transitioned to Al Mickelson, Bill Wright and Lyle McLeod with Carleen Bartel, Brett LaRoche, Shaun McLeod, Ryan Rogal, and Phil Shilling taking ownership in 2010.  Then in 2023, Chad Carruthers, David Fong, Eric Melendez-Duke, Calen Miller, Greg Wollf and Carolyn Wright joined the partnership while Brett transitioned to a part-time basis with C&W to focus on other endeavours.  The current partners have a variety of professional experience with the company, ranging between one to three decades of experience in civil engineering.  Today, our office employs over 35 full-time staff comprised of a mix of experienced senior engineers, intermediate and junior staff who are well versed in current engineering technology and analytical software.

Catterall & Wright strives to provide courteous, personal service with unique and innovative solutions for all municipal infrastructure systems.  We are dedicated to providing civil engineering services with our technical expertise including design, planning, feasibility studies, detailed equipment and construction specifications, field layout and observation during construction, contract administration and project management.

2025 marks our 60th year of providing engineering services to Saskatchewan and beyond.  Our success is sustained by developing trusting, established and lasting relationships with the municipalities and clients we serve, and delivering services with a professional and diverse team.  We are proud of our history and we embrace what the future holds for Catterall & Wright!
